Vesak Celebration to attract 2,000 Buddhists to Ba Den Mountain

-More than 2,000 Vesak delegates from 80 countries and territories will participate in a candlelight prayer ceremony for world peace at the peak of Ba Den Mountain in Tay Ninh in May as part of the United Nations Day of Vesak 2025.

This was announced during the second meeting of the International Council for the Day of Vesak and the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha on February 26.

Venerable Phra Brahmapundit, Chairman of ICDV, said that at Ba Den Mountain, he felt peace and serenity through the Buddhist spirit and the statue of Maitreya Bodhisattva—a symbol of joy and tranquility. From this mountain, one can spread the spirit and message of world peace.

This will be the fourth time Vietnam is hosting this grand Buddhist celebration, following previous events in 2008 , 2014 , and 2019 .
