-The best names, the most highly rated films, and the people who made special things for cinema over a year were honored at the 97th Academy Awards ceremony on Sunday at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles.

With a modest production budget of 6 million USD, “Anora” by director Sean Baker won five awards: “Anora” creator Sean Baker won best director, best picture, best original screenplay, and best film editing. Mikey Madison won Best Actress for her role in 'Anora'.

At the awards ceremony, director Sean Baker said, “We made this movie for 6 million USD, shooting all locations in New York City with about 40 crew members. They're all back in New York. This is for you, guys. Thank you so much. We made this independently. If you're trying to make independent films, please keep doing it. We need more. This is proof.”

Another successful film at this year's Oscars was "The Brutalist" by director Brady Corbet, winning Best Actor for Adrien Brody, Best Original Score for composer Daniel Blumberg, and Best Cinematography for director of photography Lol Crawley. For his role in "The Brutalist", Adrien Brody won the second Oscar in his career after "The Pianist" at the 2003 Oscars.

Adrien Brody said when receiving the trophy, “Winning an award like this signifies a destination and something my character references in the film, but to me it is also beyond the pinnacle of a career.”“It is a chance to begin again and the opportunity, hopefully, for the next 20 years of my life that I can prove I am worthy of such meaningful and important and relevant roles. I share this with my fellow nominees who are just wonderful,” said Brody.

Other awards included Best Supporting Actress for Zoe Saldaña, Best Supporting Actor for Kieran Culkin, Best International Feature to the Brazilian drama “'I'm Still Here”, Best Documentary Feature Film to “No Other Land”, Best Adapted Screenplay to “Conclave”, and Best Animated Short Film to “In the Shadow of the Cypress”.

Legendary music producer Quincy Jones and the brave firefighters who fought the massive Los Angeles fire in January were honored at this year’s ceremony while the artists and filmmakers who passed away last year and earlier this year were remembered.

After the awards ceremony, Hollywood stars and guests attended the Oscars afterparty at the Governors Ball, where they tried chef Wolfgang Puck’s gourmet dishes from around the globe and the winners had their names engraved on golden statuettes.
